The Organization

History:
Dane County Human Services and Service agencies recognized that there were artists with disabilities that wanted to pursue art as a livelihood. A committee of interested people was formed to provide a forum for discussion on how to help people pursue this. Our first task was to identify interested artists and identify a place to show their work. Initially people from DCHS service providers, family members, community members and others met to organize participation in the Willy St Fair in September 2004. 8-10 artists participated in the Willy St. Fair. Given the success of this event and increased interest in the group by other artists, it was decided to pursue organizing as a not-for-profit.
